The famous car “Lotus 72” is a Team Lotus F1 car that made its debut at the 1970 Spanish Grand Prix and won a total of 20 wins and three Constructors’ Champions. A Ford Cosworth DFV 3 liter V8 engine is mounted on the mid of the aluminum monocoque chassis. Innovative designs such as a wedge-shaped body shape with radiators placed in the left and right side pods, suspension torsion bars, and inboard brakes, which had been the norm for front installation, were designed. From the Spanish Grand Prix in the 1973 season, the updated “72E” will be introduced to respond to the change in regulations. Ronnie Peterson, a new member of Lotus from this year, won four wins, and Emerson Fittipaldi, who was the youngest world champion at the time in the previous year, won three wins, and although he missed the driver’s title, Team Lotus Won the 1973 Constructors’ Champion.
