After the 2014 Crimean Crisis, the 2nd Calvery Regiment of the United States Army Europe/Africa submitted a request to have the firepower of the M1126 Stryker upgraded. The United States Army decided to have the FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank missile fitted to the M1126’s CROWS-II (Raytheon Common Remote Weapon Station). This enhanced the Stryker’s capability to engage third generation main battle tanks.
